Pythagoras, founder of Pythagorean Numerology (also known as Western Numerology), believed that as with each number, each letter carries it own single-digit numeric vibration. The Alphabet Grid below show the numeric vibration assigned to each letter for use in the easy calculations. (Yep, just simple addition and subtraction.)
Additional note about the letter Y... the Letter "Y" Rule
When “y” is not accompanied by (another) vowel in the syllable, then it a vowel. For example, in the names Yvonne, Kelly, or Wyatt, the letter “y” is the only vowel its syllable in each of these names.
When “y” is accompanied by another vowel in the syllable - as in names like Ray, Kelsey, and Taylor- then “y” is considered a consonant.
